Speed date the OAE

Yes you did read that right. At tomorrow’s The Works concert we’re giving you the chance to take part in our ‘speed-date the orchestra’ event – a great opportunity to meet members of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. So, straight after the show finishes in the auditorium, you’ll have the chance to come up onto the stage and talk to OAE musicians about anything you like (within reason!)

Simply choose who’d you like to talk to first and when the bell rings, get chatting…

Before you start, have a think about what you might ask. How old is their instrument? How is it different to a modern instrument? What’s it like to be in a concert without a conductor? What’s their favourite piece of music? You’ll have the chance to grill as many musicians as you can fit in until the event ends at about 9.45pm.

Presenter Hannah Conway and OAE staff will be on hand if you have any questions and will let you know how long you have left to get those burning questions answered.

The players taking part are:

Susan Carpenter-Jacobs (violin)
Nicholas Logie (viola)
Robin Michael (cello)
Susan Sheppard (cello)
Steven Devine (organ)

Enjoy your ‘dates’!
